Insomniac Events has made such a killing by hosting electronic dance music-hosting festival series such as Electric Daisy and Wonderland-that it's somewhat surprising that the group is just now reaching out into the world of music production. Insomniac CEO and founder Pasquale Rotella announced that the company would join in a partnership with Interscope Geffen A&M to put out records representing the genre that it's heavily involved with.

"Interscope and Insomniac formed Insomniac Records because we saw the need for a label that fosters the unique talents of dance music artists while also giving them a powerful platform to share their music with fans around the world," he said via a statement. "The Interscope team has an unparalleled track record of success and I believe that with our combined efforts, Insomniac Records will launch the careers of undiscovered artists while also attracting established producers, allowing them to create music that the fans will love."

The first pickup for the new label is Arty, a Russian DJ who doesn't seem to be doing too bad for himself otherwise. He's scheduled to release his debut album later this year, and Insomniac released a preview track from the record to go along with the announcement (note the new Insomniac Records logo). You can check that out at the bottom of the page.

Interesting to notice that Arty hasn't popped up on any of the Insomniac festival lineups, but obviously its early yet to be expecting all the Electric Daisy and Wonderland lineups to be arranged.
