Drummer Travis Barker stopped by KROQ's Kevin & Bean show yesterday (Jan. 15) to announce the lineup for his 2016 Musink Tattoo & Music Festival, but more importantly, he revealed that Blink-182 has "15-20 songs recorded" while hinting at a possible Summer 2016 release.

"Blink album is coming together. I’m excited. I don’t want to reveal too much," Barker stated. "I don’t know how many songs we’re gonna write before we say ‘this is the group of 12 songs we’re putting on the album.’ We have 15-20 songs right now, but I really feel like it’s a process.”

He added: “It’s awesome because we’re all actually in the studio, where we couldn’t get that with the old lineup. It was impossible to get all 3 of us in the same studio…I think with a band you can’t just phone it in. You gotta be there. For that great chemistry and for everyone to really vibe you gotta all be in the same room. It’s just exciting. It’s a new chapter and we’re not striving for mediocrity, we’re looking to kill it. We’re gonna make a great album.”

During the radio show, which you can listen to in full below, Barker also elaborated on recently ignoring medical advice to go on to play one of his shows in Vegas, as well as his forthcoming solo album that is currently being previewed by Pusha T, President of G.O.O.D. Music.

He also discussed an impending new album by both the Transplants and Antemasque, the latter of which "the last two songs are being mixed." He also stated that his affordable ninth annual Musink Festival, which will take place from March 4-6, 2016, will feature his personal friend Yelawolf, as well as a performance by the Transplants, Snoop Dogg, Taking Back Sunday and many more.

As for Blink-182's status, the drummer stated: "There’s tentatively some plans to play shows during summer. Everything will come together and be revealed in due time. It’s gonna be great.” That could very well mean we're looking at a Summer 2016 release or something even earlier.

Back in October, while promoting his memoir Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death & Drums, Drums, Drums, Barker had revealed during an interview that the newly-formed trio (featuring Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba instead of Tom DeLonge) had at that point, recorded five new songs, including a song titled "Punk Rock Cliché" that he was particularly fond of.
