Brand New's Jesse Lacey and Wife Welcome New Daughter, Bowie

Brand New's Jesse Lacey and wife Andrea, have welcomed a "brand new" member of the family: newborn daughter Bowie.

The band posted to a photo of the baby, named after the late David Bowie, to their Instagram page with a caption announcing her birth, along with promises of an exciting year for the Brand New camp.

"This is a photo Jesse took on Tuesday of his new daughter, the morning after she was born," the post's caption reads. "She was named Bowie, and her and Jesse's wife, Andrea, are safely at home. This year should be exciting for our camp, and we could not have wished for a better start to it than this. We are grateful to be able to share this news with you, and hope you are all well. Congratulations to the Lacey family."

Lacey, who recently performed on stage with friend Kevin Devine, is rumored to be appearing on Devine's Devinyl Splits 6 release. Brand New's previously leaked 2006 demos are now available on limited-edition red cassette, and for steaming via Procrastinate! Music Traitors' official website.

As for a follow-up to the 2009 Brand New's 2009 Daisy, baby Bowie may put that on hold. Last year the band released "Mene," their first new single in six years, followed by a live debut of "Sealed To Me."
