The R&B '90s group, Sisters With Voices, more commonly known as SWV, has manged to stay relevant in the music world after over 20-plus years. After taking a break from music for a portion of that time, the ladies, known to their fans as Coko, Lelee and Taj, are back with new music. They recently sat down for an interview where they talked about their new album Still and how their WE TV reality show, SWV Reunited, almost damaged their career comeback.

During an interview with EbonyCheryl Clemons (Coko), Tamara Johnson-George (Taj) and Leanne Lyons (Lelee) spoke about their most recent project, the new album Still, which will be available for download and purchase on Feb. 5. The project will be the group's 5th studio album and the followup to their 2012 release, I Missed Us. That album was the first studio album released by the ladies since the group disbanded back in 1998, but later reunited in 2005.

According to the Ebony interview, a string of disagreements over money caused the most tension in the group - especially between Coko and Taj. Ebony cited a 2014 Rolling Stone report that covered the groups woes and stated, "Coko gave Taj and Lelee and ultimatum: she wanted half the money or she was going to quit the group."

SWV's success began early for them, with the release of their first studio album, It's About Time, released in 1992. The group explained during the interview how th 90s brought in some of the best times for them, they released some of their best work and were beginning to be known as "the New Jills" in an era dominated by the New Jack Swing sound. Coko explained how their record label at the time, RCA, found the girls to be very impressive and spoiled them.

"They laid out the carpet and really took care us," Coko said of the RCA label.

Hit singles like "Weak," "Downtown," "Right Here" and "Anything" are only some of the songs that put the three on the map and launched their career. But, as they approached the late '90s, they were barely speaking to one another, and the group ultimately disbanded.

The group was eventually offered their own reality show as a way to put them back in the spotlight, promote their new music, and allow fans to know that they are still here and going strong. Unfortunately, the show was short-lived as reported by B. Scott, and the ladies found themselves parting ways with the WE TV network after only two seasons.

Coko regrettably left a message for the fans via Instagram discussing the discontinuation of the reality show.

To our loving fans! We have received your tweets, Facebook posts, and Instagram replies inquiring about the return of SWV: Reunited. Though fans may have been disappointed about the cancellation, it seems that the group members were all but.

According to Lelee, that show really damaged their image. "That show made us look like ungrateful, lazy artists who just argued with one another," explained Lelee, according to Ebony. "...That's so far from the truth of who SWV is. That show was beginning to hurt our brand. People who have liked us since the beginning didn't want to see us like that."

Now fans get to experience the SWV that they remember and the music that they fell in love with in the '90s. So good to know that Coko, Lelee and Taj are Still together and Still making music.
