Popular "drill" producer Young Chop admits that budding Ohio independent rap star, Slim Jesus, is not what he appears in his music. Many have accused the "Drill Time" performer of in-authenticity considering his background and place of birth.

In an interview with VladTV, the influential rap producer took aim at the recent "drill rap" sensation, who himself, has admitted that he does not live the life he raps about. He says his raps concern matters such as gang behavior and gun violence because it "sounds cool."

"He's not about what he raps he about," says the "Love Sosa" producer in a recent interview. "It's a lot of rapping n***as out here that's like that, that never did nothing and got a clean background but they don't ever say no sh*t like that. It's a lot of rappers like that. It's music bro."

"He just know of Chicago and it's Drill" Young Chop continued. "He just knows by watching us. He just has a presumption like, 'Damn they rapping like that so I'm about to rap like that to get on.' And sh*t, what he do? How many views did he get? 19 million I just seen on that? He did it right."

Slim Jesus has taken heat for his perceived lack of credibility before. Some have opined that, given "drill" rap's origins in Chicago, his Ohio background prohibits his from making authentic contributions to the genre. Others have mocked his appearance, background, and lack of authentic expression.

However, the Ohio rapper seems to have found some success, with offers from various labels, including an alleged offer from Birdman of Cash Money. Slim Jesus has posted a video of himself burning one of these contracts, insisting that he only wants to pursue earning "independent money." Further, the rapper has accrued over 21 million views on his music video for the track "Drill Time."
