Looks like fans of Queen have a good reason to rejoice! Word has it that the iconic rock band is planning to release a new album later this year that will contain some unreleased material featuring their iconic singer Freddie Mercury.

The information was dropped via an interview the BBC Wales recently did with guitarist Brian May. The legendary Queen member told the BBC the album will most likely be titled "Queen Forever" and should be out later this year.

In the interview, May stated, "We found a few more tracks with Freddie singing and all of us playing and they are quite beautiful. It is a compilation but will have this material that nobody in the world has ever heard. I think people will really enjoy it."

Back in 2013, May revealed that there could be some Freddie Mercury / Michael Jackson collaborations that would also be released; however, nothing has been said as to whether or not the material will be on "Queen Forever."

In speaking more of the album, May continued, "Most of it comes from the '80s when we were in full flight. It is quite emotional. It is the big, big ballads and the big, big epic sound. It wouldn't have been if we hadn't done this restoration job. We had to start from scratch because we only had scraps. But knowing how it would have happened if we had finished it, I can sit there and make it happen with modern technology."

At the moment, Queen is gearing up for a North American tour with American Idol's own Adam Lambert on the microphone. It'll be the first North American tour in nearly a decade, beginning on June 19 in Chicago and rounding out on July 28 in Toronto.
