After a frantic call made by a friend, famed singer George Michael was recently rushed to the hospital by ambulance after falling ill. It's been reported by the Daily Mail that two ambulances appeared at the 50-year-old's north London home at 8am on Thursday, May 22, after he suffered a "mystery collapse." He was later taken to a London hospital for emergency care.

A spokesperson for the ambulance team told the Daily Mail, "We sent two ambulance crews and staff treated one patient, a man, who was taken to the hospital."

Details of his health scare are unknown but Michael's publicist released a statement just last night to The Sun, saying, "George Michael was in the hospital for routine tests but there is nothing further to say."

Michael's fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns and opinions, with one saying, "What's happened to my beloved @GeorgeMichael? Reports coming in say he's been rushed to hospital :( ".

The recent collapse comes as one in a long stream of scares for the famed former frontman of Wham, even despite his rather publicized drug and alcohol usage. Back in 2013, he suffered a number of injuries after falling from a moving vehicle on England's M1 motorway. Before that, he was close to death after coming down with pneumonia in Vienna. And of course, there are his past (and frequent) run-ins with the law.

We're hoping for more updates to come. Stay tuned!
