"Sorry" not sorry.

Sure, Justin Bieber has a laundry list of wrongdoings, adolescent mistakes and outrageous behavior, but as most Beliebers likely know, the Canadian pop star's "Sorry" is about a girl, not apologizing for any misdeeds.

While some believe the apologetic Purpose track is a reference to his bad boy persona, which he's tried extremely hard to shake, the song tells another story. In a recent interview, the 21-year-old admitted it was all about a lady despite the world's assumption that he was atoning for his party boy sins. "People ran with that," he said. "That I was like, apologizing with that song and stuff."

"It really had nothing to do with that. ... It was about a girl," Bieber said. Cue fans losing their minds trying to figure out which ex-flame the song is about (cough, Selena Gomez, cough).

However, Bieber said the album's message isn't so much about actually saying sorry, but for owning his actions and facing his mistakes.

"Everyone when they start growing up realizes, 'Man, I did some dumb shit when I was younger," Bieber, this month's GQ cover boy, said. "It's not just me. ... If I could go back I wouldn't really change much. I think it's all my journey. That stuff made me who I am."

Earlier in the month, it was announced that the "Where R U Now" singer would perform on the Grammys twith Diplo and Skrillex.
