Drake's highly anticipated fourth studio album, Views From the 6, is schedule to make its debut this Spring and as the countdown to its release grows closer, more details continue to be revealed. In a recent interview with the New York Times, the rapper's longtime producer and friend Noah '40' Shebib opened up about what fans can expect on the new project, which includes "more untraditional sounds."

Although the 29-year-old Toronto native has remained surprisingly quiet about the vibe and sound he's looking to create on the new upcoming album, Shebib offered fans a taste of what they have been cooking up in the studio.

Shebib, who's worked with an array of artists like Beyoncé, Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, and Jamie Foxx, revealed they're planning to further explore the winning formula mixture of hip-hop and r&b that they've created, while also experimenting with different techniques they've never tried before. The direction of View's production will be something fans won't expect.

“It’s going to be what everybody expects and wants from Drake and from us,” Shebib told the NYT. “A lot of introspection, very vivid. He’s discovering new flows, new cadences, new patterns. I’m trying to find ways to pull more untraditional sounds in, to push the boundaries a little further.”

Despite dropping his most recent album, Nothing Was the Same, all the way back in 2013, Drake had no intention of staying under the radar. Since then, the rapper has released a string of projects and collaborations that have each down respectively well on the music charts.

Last year was a big year for him, reaching commercial success with his certified platinum project, If You're Reading This It's Too Late in February 2015. He also made headlines with his September 2015 joint-mixtape with Atlanta rapper Future, What a Time To Be Alive.

Drake unveiled a preview of what's to come in the form of the track "Summer Sixteen." The song debuted at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Although an official release date has yet to be set, Views From the 6 is expected for release in April 2016.
