One would think that a shout-out in the lyrics of one of the most popular songs of the year would be pretty cool, but not everyone is Bill Gates. We're talking about the line in Beyoncé's controversial song, "Formation," where she calls herself the "Black Bill Gates." Though the tech mogul has heard the song, he explained in a new interview that he missed this shout-out until one of his employees told him about it. When he learned about it, he was basically baffled as to why the singer would namedrop him - though, we all know that comparing yourself to Gates is a huge power play that Beyoncé is more than capable of claiming.

Speaking to Wired about this new pop-culture reference involving his own name, Gates showed us a side of the world that many don't even know exists: one that isn't immediately affected by any and everything Beyoncé does or says. While he may sound confused in this interview, we're scratching our heads at his lack of enthusiasm over the shout-out!

"Yeah, I hadn't realized that she did that until somebody in the office actually sent me a copy of the lyrics and I said, 'Are you serious? This is kind of a strange set of words here.' I'm surprised - I'm not sure she said those words at the Super Bowl, though, did she?...I guess it's nice that people consider me successful. I actually haven't met Beyoncé," Gates explained, according to Uproxx.

While Gates isn't embracing the Beyoncé lyrics, Red Lobster has been reaping the rewards thanks to another line from "Formation." The singer mentions the popular seafood chain in her song, using it as a prize for good sex from her lover. You can read our previous coverage on this news right here!
