Speaking to the press ahead of the match, Everton boss Roberto Martinez complimented West Ham's manager Slaven Bilic.
"It's not easy to arrive into the Premier League as a manager and I know that he is very close to the British game and he has had really good experiences as a player, but nothing compares to being a manager," Martinez told the media, according to PremierLeague.com. "He's been remarkable, the way that West Ham have been playing at home. This team shares goals, creates opportunities, they play with intensity and they defend as a group."
Meanwhile, Bilic opened up about possibly making it to the top four, and therefore the UEFA Champions League next year.
"We are also looking below us because there are teams who are queuing up," he said, according to Sky Sports. "There is no gap. It is not big between us and ninth or 10th in the table."
