After nearly a decade of lying dormant, Billy Idol is finally giving the world more, more, more. Today (June 16), the "White Wedding" rocker announced that he will release a new album later this year alongside his memoir Dancing With Myself.

According to Billboard, Idol will be releasing his first new album full of new material in nine years this October, to coincide with the release of his book (due to hit stores Oct. 7).

Not much has been revealed about the punk singer's eighth studio album, but here is what we do know: the album will be his first since 2006's Happy Holidays and Idol's first album of all-new material since his 2005 album Devil's Playground, the album will be released via Idol's own imprint BFI Records via Kobalt Label Services and Trevor Horn (Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams) produced the record.

The album has yet to receive an official title or exact release date.

The untitled effort will be Idol's first studio album in eight years and his first of all-original material in nine. His last record, Happy Holidays, was (obviously) a Christmas-themed album, featuring covers of wintery standards such as "Frosty The Snowman," "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "Jingle Bell Rock."

His last rock album Devil's Playground was released in March 2005 and featured the minor hit "Scream."

However, Idol is best known for his raucous rock music from the 1980s, including singles such as "Rebel Yell," "White Wedding" and "Eyes Without A Face."
