Jeff Montalvo, known best by his stage name Seven Lions, has released his latest project, the Creation EP via the electronic arm of Universal Music Group, Casablanca Records. The 7-track project has features from Vök, Mike Mains and Lights.

The LP plays to the strengths of Seven Lions melodic dubstep production, mixed with his acoustic background in bands. He opens the EP with the entirely acoustic, string intro before unveiling a track that fits right in the middle with soft opening and then the grittiest of the dubstep with a Middle Eastern twist of the entire EP in "Summer Of The Occult." He also draws on some of his metal roots with some heavy electric guitar on "The Journey" that can sound a little odd next to his quick synth work.

Speaking on the direction of his EP Seven Lions notes, "As well as having some high energy songs, for this EP I really wanted to experiment with some non-dance floor related tracks and really get back to my metal and acoustic roots."

Fans can stream the full LP on SoundCloud below, which also includes an eighth track where Montalvo provides some insight into how he made some of the songs and the background on each of them. For the super fan or those who are interested in the production behind each of them, such as how he gets the strings to sound so lively, mixing with the deep bass, it is a good listen. Seven Lions has started to roll out his summer itinerary, which includes festival gigs like Digital Dreams, Lollapalooza and EDC New York.
