Zayn Malik was used to scoring No. 1 records as a member of One Direction, and that's not something that he is going to have to give up now that he's gone solo. The "Pillowtalk" singer's debut album Mind of Mine leads the American charts this week, outselling new albums from K Michelle, Young Thug and Asking Alexandria.

Mind of Mine dominated album sales this week, Billboard reports. Zayn's debut album leads the Billboard 200 at No. 1 with 157,000 album equivalent units. Though he had sizable chart metrics from single sales and streams, 71 percent of Zayn's units came from pure album sales. He moved 112,000 total copies.

Though Mind of Mine is Zayn's first solo No. 1 album in America, it's his fifth overall chart topper. He previously led the Billboard 200 with each of One Direction's first four albums: Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013) and FOUR (2014).

Zayn isn't the only artist to have a big debut on the Billboard 200. K Michelle's new album More Issues Than Vogue debuted at No. 2 with 59,000 units (54,000 of which were pure album sales).

Other debuts include Young Thug's latest Slime Season mixtape, fittingly titled Slime Season 3. The nine-song LP debuted at No. 7 with 38,000 units. Finally, there's a little new rock on the charts this week, courtesy of Asking Alexandria. The English metalcore band's new album The Black starts at No. 9 with 30,000 units.

Aside from the debuts, there was a flurry of activity in the top 10, with Rihanna's Anti being the only album staying in its position from last week (No. 3, 50,000 units).

Justin Bieber's Purpose and Adele's 25 swapped places, landing at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. Meanwhile, Twenty One Pilots' Blurryface saw a 27 percent activity boost (and 52 percent sales surge) this week, bumping the album up from No. 7 to No. 6. The rise in units (41,000 total) for Blurryface comes courtesy of an iTunes sale for $6.99.

Because of the boost in Twenty One Pilots sales and the debut of Young Thug, Chris Stapleton's longstanding top 10 album Traveller slips from No. 6 to No. 8 this week. Finally, with a three spot boost, The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness jumped back into the top 10 at No. 10.
