Dr. Luke’s camp has fired back at Kesha’s most recent accusations that she was offered a way out of her contract if she took back her accusations of rape against the producer. His camp asserts that her claims are “outrageous” and like all of the claims against her former collaborator, decidedly defamatory.

As has been swirling in the media for months, Kesha has previously accused Dr. Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald, of drugging and raping her early on in her career. The singer has also been making appeals to the New York Supreme Court to release her from her contract from Kemosabe Records, Gottwald’s label. The rebuttal from Gottwald’s camp comes on the heels of an Instagram post from Kesha, where she first made the new accusations.

In a statement released to Rolling Stone, Gottwald’s representative said, “The Court repeatedly stated Kesha is already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims. That’s because all the evidence - including Kesha’s own videotaped sworn testimony - show her allegations are false. The only thing Kesha is not free to do is to continue to lie about Dr. Luke through publicity stunts and outrageous smears, ignoring the fact that by her own free will she went to work and entered into new contracts with Dr. Luke years after this ‘incident’ supposedly happened.”

The statement further read, “Her goal all along has been solely personal enrichment by seeking to break contracts that brought her success and millions so she can enter into more lucrative ones. We look forward to our day in court holding Kesha accountable for her lies.”

When the judge’s decision first came down, it stated that Kesha would not be permitted to create music entirely free of Kemosabe Records. As it stands, Kesha is allowed to record music without her former producer, but he still receives a percentage of any profits that she makes. A New York appellate court is going to weigh in on the original decision as Kesha and her lawyer, Mark Geragos, are seeking a reversal of the order.
