On Monday, June 16, Coldplay relayed this message on its official Twitter account: "We're shooting the video for 'A Sky Full Of Stars' on the streets of Sydney tomorrow. Does anyone want to be in it!?"

And no, it wasn't a joke. The band required 250 fans to come down to Australia Street in the country's largest city for its new music video. Just three days after the initial casting call was sent out and two days after the video was shot, the band released the celebratory new clip.

The premise for "A Sky Full Of Stars" is simple enough: Coldplay frontman Chris Martin wandered through the streets of downtown Sydney, passing by unknowing people and dedicated Coldplay fans alike, a parade ensues, ending in one big ol' block party with the complete band.

Despite the full, glitzy hand of of Avicii on the track, Martin appears in the music video with stripped down instruments: a bass drum on strapped on the back, an acoustic guitar and all sorts of musical bells and whistles, making him essentially appear as a one-man band.

The rest of Coldplay appears in the music video, as well, equipped with pan flutes, tambourines, electric basses and guitars and even an umbrella and roses, making the scene seem all the more down home.
