Le Bataclan, the Parisian music venue where 89 individuals were tragically killed in a horrific terrorist attack on Friday, Nov. 13 2015, has updated fans on its progress for reopening and given details on some of the first bands that will perform there. The first act they have scheduled thus far is Libertines frontman Pete Doherty on Nov. 16, followed by Youssou N'Dour et le Super Etoile de Dakar two days later on Nov. 18.

In a facebook post in French, Le Bataclan gave an update on the progress on how the building was doing, saying the renovation was underway. "It requires restoration of all the infrastructure and equipment in the main room without changing the layout. We are making sure to preserve the building's warmth and friendliness. We want to maintain the popular festive spirit that has always been there."

An exact date for when the concert will open has not been set, but they have started to program a few dates, including the aforementioned ones above.

Two others have been booked. Nada Surf will perform on Dec. 2 and MZ the following night on Dec. 3. Eagles of Death Metal frontman, Jesse Hughes, has said he wanted the band to be the first ones to play there after the attacks in November. They were the band playing when the terrorists struck that night. EODM and Le Bataclan have become woven in the same narrative that won't ever be broken apart and he wants to help reopen the venue, though some recent comments about gun control and the venue's involvement in the attacks may have unnerved the owners.
