Sebastian Ingrosso has enjoyed the fruits of collaboration over his career. From early on working with his Swedish brethren in Steve Angello, Axwell, along with others such as Alesso and Laidback Luke, Ingrosso has always been eager to put out music with others. Though he is still flying high with Axwell as part of their duo Axwell /\ Ingrosso, in 2016 he starting to forge his own path a little releasing a hip-hop influenced song "Flags" with LIOHN and Salvatore in March and now his own single "Dark River."

The track has been a staple of Axwell /\ Ingrosso sets since last summer and many speculated it was a new one from the pair. Just like Axwell who released his own thunderous single "Barricade" in March, Ingrosso finds his own rhythm and releases the booming "Dark River."

"Dark River" starts out with like it is leading the listener down the opening stretch of a dark river. Then it suddenly hits like a flash of light with a barrage of drums and deep synths. The break slows things down with some whistles and guitars, before getting right back into the groovy drums and thunderous percussion.

This may not have the anthemic qualities that one might expect from some of the past Ingrosso tracks like "Calling" and "Reload," but it will work in a club or festival setting. The greater emphasis on drums can be heard in both this and "Flags" and could be a sign of things to come from Ingrosso's creative mind.
