Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot is arguably one of hip-hop's most iconic names and will be recognized by Timbaland, Pharrell and Eve at VH1 Hip-Hop Honors. The ceremony will take place in New York City later this month, and Elliot will have a parade of collaborators close to her paying homage.

According to Billboard, VH1 Hip-Hop Honors has been on a six-year hiatus and upon its return, Elliot will be honored along with Queen Latifah, Lil’ Kim and Salt-N-Pepa during the awards. The awards ceremony will take place at the David Geffen Hall in New York at Lincoln Center this upcoming Monday (July 11) at 9 P.M. ET. Hip-hop artists who have been honored in the past include Tupac Shakur, Russell Simmons and Public Enemy along with others.

Elliot has had some other notable achievements as of late, and her song “WTF (Where They From)” with Pharrell amassed 42 million views on YouTube.

In other Elliot news, it was reported back in April that she has been working on music with Bruno Mars. The news was released along with a photo of the two on Twitter, captioned by Elliot with “Had a blast vibing wit my fan @BrunoMars @ the studio! GoodVibes He got some [fire]! He such a rare gem! Big up Sunny.”

At the time it was unclear whether the track the two were working on was for his upcoming album or for a new song of Elliot’s. It has also been reported that Elliot is working on a comeback album to follow-up to her 2005 album The Cookbook.
