JoJo recently revealed the bad experiences that she went through when she was still a rising star. According to the "Leave" singer, the company that she used to write music for required her to adopt certain unhealthy habits in order to become thinner.

JoJo noted that her previous employers forced her to follow a specific physical image by injecting herself with supplements to limit the number of calories her body needed. As a result, her daily caloric intake dropped and her body weakened.

"I was under a lot of pressure from a company that I was previously working with and they wanted me to lose weight fast," she told Popsugar. "So they got me with a nutritionist and had me on all these supplements and I was injecting myself."

"It makes your body only need certain calories, so I ate 500 calories a day," she added. "This was the most unhealthy thing I'd ever done."

According to the singer, she decided to follow her former employers' requirements for the sake of her album. But, as she looked back on what she went through, JoJo felt that risking her health for her career was not worth it.

Fortunately, JoJo was able to bounce back from her regrets and is currently preparing for her comeback in the music industry. As reported by Revelist, the 25-year-old singer is working on her new album called Mad Love, which is expected to come out later this year.

Aside from her new album, JoJo is also busy working with Fifth Harmony for the group's 7/27 Tour. According to Pop Crush, she has been asked by the members of the girl group to join them as an opening act in their performances in the U.S. and Canada. The other opening acts for the tour include Lali, Jake Miller and Victoria Monet.
