Following the alleged breakup of Taylor Swift and Avengers star Tom Hiddleston, Calvin Harris has opened up regarding his past relationship with the "Shake it Off" singer. According to the Scottish DJ, he regretted ranting about his ex-girlfriend after they went their separate ways.

Harris made the revelations during an interview for the latest issue of GQ Magazine, where he was named as one of the publications' Men of the Year. During the interview, he looked back on his breakup with Swift and how he felt when it was publicized.

"It's very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly," he said. "The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus."

"She respected my feelings in the same sense," he added. "I'm not good at being a celebrity."

He then noted that the scrutiny he felt from the public was one of the main reasons why he lashed out at Swift on Twitter in July, about a month after their relationship ended.

These tweets were already deleted from his account but as noted by Us Magazine, one of Harris' posts was about his song "This is What You Came For," which was co-written by Swift. In the tweet, Harris noted that Swift wanted to use a pseudonym for the song but when news about their collaboration emerged, the DJ said that he was accused of wanting the credits to the song all to himself.

In a follow-up tweet, he hinted that Swift should just focus on her new relationship instead of trying to make her ex-boyfriend look bad.

According to Harris, his Twitter rants at that time showed how he was swayed by the effects of his breakup with Swift.

"When it ended, all hell broke loose," he told GQ. "Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realize that none of that matters. I'm a positive guy."
