Desiigner Arrested on Gun, Drug Charges In Manhattan

Desiigner has been arrested on drug and drug charges after an incident Thursday night.

The news was first reported by TMZ and confirmed by police via the New York Daily News.

According to police, Desiigner was driving from New Jersey into Manhattan on Thursday night when he got into an argument with another motorist alongside of his Cadillac Escalade. He was on the busy intersection of 42nd St. and 8th Ave. where everything is noticed, even at 9:10 p.m.

Desiigner allegedly flicked a cigarette at the other motorist and then waved a gun at the person. He then took off in his car, which had four other passengers.

The other motorist took down the lisence plate number and called 911. Cops responded and searched the vehicle. They found the gun and a "large quantity" of oxytocin pills and other drugs.

Desiigner was handcuffed and taken into custody. He was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a loaded weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell.

The four other people in the vehicle were also arrested, though charges are pending against them.

Desiigner burst onto the hip-hop scene with his song "Panda" that went from viral sensation to ubiquitous mainstream hit. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts in April. He released his follow up "Timmy Turner" in July. He was signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music in February.
