Ariana Grande revealed that she is officially dating Mac Miller on Ellen this past Tuesday (Sept. 13). She was shy, but honest when the topic came up. Rumors about the “Side to Side” singer and the Pittsburgh rapper had been swirling for about a month now.
“This is so crazy.” Grande said to DeGeneres. “I’ve never had the relationship talk on a show before.” DeGeneres then asked if the two had a happy relationship, she replied, “Yes.”
The rumors that the two were dating started a month ago, when Grande incorporated Miller into her headlining set at Billboard’s Hot 100 Music Festival. The pair was also seen together at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards and have worked together on the tracks “My Way” and “My Favorite Part.”
Miller also spoke out recently about how their relationship began while working on “My Favorite Part,” saying to People, “I wrote that love song before I saw her. We’re very good friends first and foremost. We made that song and started becoming close again. It’s very dope and I like how it worked out.”
Grande also talked about the bike heavy theme on her new music video for “Side to Side,” saying, “It was tiring but worth it. I need to be on a bike so I committed to it, stuck with it, had the idea of the bike thing the first time I heard Nicki’s verse and she says the phrase “d-ck bicycle” and the idea was born.”
Grande recently broke up with former boyfriend Ricky Alvarez after dating for a year this past July, and the “Dangerous Woman” singer had previously been involved with rapper Big Sean. Grande and Big Sean parted ways in April 2015.
The singer seems to have a history of getting involved with those she works with, as Alvarez was one of her backup dancers before they dated. It was never reported what exactly caused the split but Grande was spotted with ex-boyfriend Graham Phillips of The Good Wife about a week prior to the breakup.
