Ed Sheeran can "multiply" his album successes in his homeland by two. After the "Sing" musician's new album x debuted at No. 1 in the UK last week with the fastest-moving numbers to date, he's now notched a second week atop the British album charts.

According to The Official Charts Company, Sheeran's stronghold at the No. 1 spot kept punky boy band 5 Seconds Of Summer from the top of the album charts. X moved 93,000 copies in its second week, tallying Sheeran's UK total to 275,000 units total.

For a reference on just how quickly x is selling in comparison to other 2014 albums, the record is now the fourth biggest album of the year after just 14 days on shelves. He follows Coldplay's Ghost Stories, Paulo Nutini's Caustic Love and his ex-flame Ellie Goulding with her 2012 effort Halcyon.

With numbers and hype like that, it's no surprise that the debut album from 5SOS just couldn't crack the No. 1 spot, instead the "She Looks So Perfect" band started its album chart history in the UK at No. 2. Unlike Sheeran, whose x was released internationally on June 23, American 5 Seconds Of Summer fans will have to wait until July 22 for 5 Seconds Of Summer.

Two other new albums debuted in the UK's top 10 this week, with George Ezra's Wanted On Voyage debuted at No. 3. The 21-year-old singer-songwriter was coming off a highly praised set at Glastonbury and launched into third place this week with his debut album, featuring the single "Budapest."

Singer-songwriter David Gray also debuted in the top 10 in the final spot with his new album Mutineers.
