Jason Mraz recently appeared on CBS Sunday Morning to promote his new album Yes!. The piece detailed his life and career, and featured the musician speaking about keeping his music positive and making us all realize "everything will be okay" in the end.

Telling CBS, "I certainly don't want to bring an audience into that dark place and say, 'Come with me on a journey while I bum us all out,' and then hope that my next song gets us out. No, it has to happen within one song. If you're going to a sad place, for me I gotta get out of it before the song's over."

Mraz's journey in music began in coffee shops in southern California. He's now won two Grammy Awards and a spot in the hearts of many for his popular tunes –– especially the 2008 hit "I'm Yours," which spent an astounding 76 weeks on the charts.

The singer's constant flow of "carefree" appears to originate from his roots. He claims the way of keeping that secure is through surfing. "The fact that surfing serves no point really, I think that brings to my music the sort of 'carefree' and 'everything's gonna be okay' quality. Because when you're out in the water that's how you feel. You're like 'You know, everything's going to be okay.'"

Now 37-years-old, Mraz is gearing up to release his fifth studio album, Yes!, tomorrow, July 15.
