After a less-than-thrilling World Cup opening performance from Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez on June 12, Shakira delivered a winning performance for the World Cup's closing ceremony.

Prior to Germany's 1-0 win over Argentina, Shakira took the stadium field in Rio to sing "Dare (La, La, La)." Dressed in a red, strappy, sequined outfit, Shakira sang while playing a Carnaval drum. She was accompanied by samba dancers, Brazilian percussionists and collaborator Carlinhos Brown, who wore a suit and tribal headdress.

Shakira's performance was immediately followed by Santana, Wyclef, and Alexandre Pires, who played a lively rendition of the official World Cup anthem "Dar Um Jeito (We Will Find a Way)."

Finally Brazilian superstar Ivete Sangalo hit the stage to a rowdy audience who were jumping up and down in the stands.

All the artists came together after the 20-minute show and danced on the field. Shakira even brought out her toddler son, Milan.

After the success of her 2010 World Cup South Africa anthem "Waka Waka," Shakira mdae a bid for this year's anthem with a "Brazil 2014" version of her single "Dare." The song was not award the official FIFA song or anthem status; however, it was included as a cut on the World Cup album, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Nonetheless, the video for the song has garnered more than 220 million views on VEVO, beating out Pitbull's "We Are One," which had only 189 million (at time of publishing).
