Showrunner Jeff Davis confirmed that Tyler Hoechlin and Dylan O’Brien, who play Derek and Stiles respectively, are coming back for the “Teen Wolf” series finale. As happy as he is about their return, Davis explained the difficulties of many people all coming back at almost the same time.

Wrapping up so many characters is incredibly difficult to write says Davis in a Cartermatt report. Even with MTV giving the “Teen Wolf” finale an extended run time, there is only so much time to establish endings for some of the characters. Fans would also love to know what happens next for Scott (Tyler Possey) and the rest of his pack even beyond the series’ ending.

As for the ending of the series itself, Davis teased, “It’s definitely not a cut-to-black [ending] like The Sopranos. We tried to craft an ending that feels right for the audience and for the characters.”

According to Ryan Kelley, who plays Jordan Parrish, not everything will be tied up neatly with the “Teen Wolf” series finale. The actor said that they were halfway through shooting Season 6 when they found that it will be their final season reports TV Line. Since they only have a limited time left, certain things that fans would want to know won’t probably be answered.

As for his character being instrumental in taking down the bad guys, Kelly feels that Parrish may not even have an idea of what he’s doing. "This is still new to him, so he's figuring it out as he goes along,” explained Kelly.

“Teen Wolf” is down to its last four episodes with the series finale airing on September 24. It will return on September 3 on MTV after being pre-empted last Sunday by the 2017 MTV VMAs.
