The NCIS team will investigate the murder of a Navy lieutenant who specialized in monitoring classified intel in the next episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 9. During the course of the investigation, the team uncovers that the officer may be selling surveillance briefs to a foreign buyer. Also, the episode will provide more details on Hetty’s (Linda Hunt) secret mission.

The synopsis for the “NCIS: Los Angeles” episode titled “Assets” reveal that the woman was killed while she was on leave in LA, where she smuggled the surveillance briefs. The team needs to trace her steps to find out who purchased the classified intel according to Spoilers Guide.

In the previous episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Hetty was shown in Vietnam, where she met up with a contact at a bar. The latter gave Hetty a photo of a man, who he claimed to be a former CIA and a plane crash survivor in 1969. It was the same accident that Hetty survived reports TV Line. It was earlier revealed that she was supposedly the only one who came out of it alive.

According to Hetty’s contact, the former CIA operative has gotten “a taste for killing” and has been doing it for decades while missing-in-action. Despite this, Hetty told her informant that she doesn’t believe in “ghosts.” In the same “NCIS: Los Angeles” episodes, Mosley (Nia Long) and Callen (Chris O’Donnell) had a disagreement when the former didn’t want Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) to work with the NCIS team anymore.

Mosley felt that the team will do well even without Deeks. She also does not approve of Deeks and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) having a relationship while working together. “NCIS: Los Angeles” spoilers indicate that the couple will face more setbacks because of the new boss’ meddling.

Meanwhile, Deeks got an earful from his mom about having to hear about his engagement from Kensi’s mother and not directly from him. “NCIS: Los Angeles” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
