5 Seconds of Summer recently surprised fans with two announcements. On Thursday, Feb. 22, the group dropped "Want You Back," and they also announced their upcoming tour.

"Want You Back" serves as 5 Seconds of Summer's first song in two years. The track is already available on Spotify and Apple Music. The group released their last album, Sounds Good Feels Good, back in 2015. In an interview last year, Michael Clifford opened up about the band's upcoming album.

"It's coming along really well. It's taking a really long time to perfect the new sound and direction we're taking. I think the reason it's taken so long is because we haven't just wanted to get it to a place where we're, like, happy... We want it to be perfect," said Clifford.

The guitarist added that fans would be surprised with their upcoming album because it is unlike the ones they released before. Clifford also said that he and his bandmates felt it was time to change their sound, and that is exactly what they did at the recording studio.

Aside from treating fans to the release of their upcoming album, 5 Seconds of Summer will also go on tour starting on March 20 at the Debaser Strand in Stockholm, Sweden. The 26-venue show will wrap up on June 6 at the Cine Joia in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Other destinations include Melbourne, Australia, Los Angeles, California, Singapore, Singapore, and Mexico City, Mexico.
