Prince Talks About His Sexuality

Prince was an American singer-songwriter who is best known for his electric work and flamboyant stage presence. Even though he identified himself as a straight man, Prince was accused of being gay because of the way he dressed. During a previous interview with Chris Rock, Prince explained why he opted to wear clothes that are not very manly.

"I think I was just... being who I was. Being the true Gemini that I am. And there's um, there's many sides to that as well. And there was a little acting going on, too," he explained.

At a young age, Prince was exposed to Playboy magazine by his own mom, and this changed his perspective on his sexuality.

"Once my mother remarried, it was during the time period in my life where she had to teach me about the birds and the bees. And I've never asked her about this, but I think there was some sort of plan to initiate me heavy and quick. I was given Playboy magazine, and there was erotic literature laying around. It was very easily picked up... I think it really affected my sexuality a great deal," he said.
