Singer-songwriter Ted Nugent has expressed his disagreement with the "March For Our Lives" initiative and called Parkland shooting survivors "soul-less" and "ignorant."

In an interview on The Joe Pags Show, the NRA board member spoke about last month's massive and historic protest against gun violence and mass shooting in Washington. Several celebrities including Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kim Kardashian West, and Oprah Winfrey supported the protest.

However, Nugent made it clear on Friday, March 30, that he was not one of them.

Ted Nugent Slams Parkland Survivors

"I really feel sorry for them because it's not only ignorant and dangerously stupid, but it's soulless. To attack the good, law-abiding families of America when well-known, predictable murderers commit these horrors is deep in the category of soulless," he stated. "These poor children, I'm afraid to say this and it hurts me to say this, but the evidence is irrefutable, they have no soul."

The "Strangehold" singer also discussed the phenomenon called "dumbing down of America" in which he accused public school teachers of imparting lies to students. He also called out the media for providing lies to the kids who marched last month and support gun control.

Nugent, who is a supporter of Donald Trump, has made several controversial statements in the past. He was once investigated by the Secret Service after he commented on then-president Barrack Obama. In 2016, he was also criticized for an anti-Semitic post on Facebook.

Last year, he announced that he would no longer engage in "hateful rhetoric" after his wife convinced him to avoid using "harsh terms" in expressing his opinion. This pronouncement came after a shooting at a congressional basketball practice that left many injured.

Other celebrities such as Killer Mike of Run The Jewels and Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes have expressed their disagreement with the survivors of "March For Our Lives."

Siding With The Parkland Survivors

Nugent's comments come after Laura Ingraham of The Ingraham Angle on Fox News was dropped by several advertisers this weekend. On Wednesday, March 28, the television personality taunted Parkland survivor David Hogg, a high school senior, after he was rejected by four colleges.

The student activist responded and encouraged advertisers to boycott her show.

Soon after, TripAdvisor, Wayfair, Hulu, and Nestle announced that they will drop advertising from The Ingraham Angle. In response, Ingraham apologized to Hogg and retracted her earlier comments, saying that the student should be proud of his GPA. She also apologized to the "brave" victims of the Feb. 14 school shooting and argued that her show was first to feature the kids.
