Zedd performs "The Middle" live for the first time with Maren Morris. The two artists released the song with Grey on Jan. 30, 2018.

The live performance took place at OMNIA in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 28. After singing "The Middle" in front of a large crowd, Morris shared a photo of herself on stage via her Instagram account.

On her Twitter account, Morris revealed that it was her first time to hear her song played that loud.

"The Middle" is currently at no. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Since its debut earlier this year, the track has been on the chart for the past 12 weeks.

Zedd Talks About 'The Middle'

Last month, Zedd opened up about "The Middle" and said that he wanted to release the song as perfectly as possible. In his attempt to do so, he recorded the single with 15 different singers until ultimately deciding to release the track with Morris.

"I wasn't going for a country singer. I really never care who the singer is or what genre they make. I just don't like genres generally. I wasn't going for any specific genre. I had people that were completely unknown, like up and coming people who I saw in a YouTube video to A-list superstars," said Zedd.

He said that it has been his practice to record his songs with different artists. However, he did not do the same thing for "Stay." Zedd revealed that he really wanted to record the song with Alessia Cara.

Charli XCX Recorded 'The Middle'

Prior to Zedd and Morris's live performance of "The Middle," Charli XCX revealed that she was one of the singers that Zedd worked with last year. On her Twitter account, the 25-year-old singer explained why she did not land the final cut.

"I cut this song 2 but honestly the whole thing was waaayy too high in pitch for me & my 5am party voice. Also I'm not sure Zedd was f***** w my robot levels of autotune. In my opinion Maren sounds sooo beautiful on this song & Sarah Aarons is a totally genius pop writer," wrote Charli XCX.

Other female artists that recorded the song with Zedd are Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, Bebe Rexha, Carly Rae Jepsen, Daya, Anne-Marie, Tove Lo, Elle King, Bishop Briggs, and Lauren Jauregui.

The original version of "The Middle" debuted on Grammy night during a commercial for Target.
