J. Cole opens up about Kanye West during a recent interview. He said that he felt his fellow rapper used him when he shared their phone conversation online.

During his interview on Power 105.1, J. Cole told host Angie Martinez that he did not expect West to share screenshots of their conversation on his Twitter account. He also revealed that West, later on, apologized for what he did.

"I would've never posted that or tell him to post that. That made me feel a certain type of way. I told him that. He apologized, for the record. I told him that it felt like you just used my name in that very quick conversation for social media and to keep your thing going, whatever you were doing. It just felt like it wasn't sincere because of that," said J. Cole.

J. Cole Talks About 'False Prophets'

The rapper also talked about his 2016 song "False Prophets." He revealed that one verse was written in reference to West. When asked to elaborate on his phone conversation with Kim Kardashian's husband, J. Cole said that West asked J. Cole to hold him accountable. West also asked J. Cole to always keep him in check.

Elsewhere in the interview, J. Cole talked about Kendrick Lamar and said that they previously recorded songs. However, they did not make it to their albums. Even though they are not working on an album at the moment, J. Cole did not rule out the possibility that they might do so in the future.

"It's not like it's something that's actively happening. Not because it's never gonna happen," said J. Cole.
