Shawn Mendes is open to collaborating with South Korean K-pop group BTS. However, he says that he still needs to find time to pursue it.

Mendes said that he is a thousand percent onboard if a collaboration will take place between him and BTS in the future. He also admitted that he was blown away by BTS when he first watched the group's performance.

"I love them so much. I saw a video of them singing 'In My Blood' - it was so good," said Mendes.

'Shawn Mendes' Release Date, Tracklist

During his interview with Billboard, the Canadian singer also opened up about his upcoming self-titled album Shawn Mendes, which will be released on May 25. Mendes called the compilation as his most honest project to date.

"I think I really spent time not lying to myself and just writing exactly how I was feeling instead of dancing around the topics. I'm just nervous cause there's stuff that I tried that is different from my music in the past and I'm nervous that people might not like it, but if they do, then that's awesome...," explained Mendes. "I think as a person I've changed so much since my last album so the music, obviously, is gonna change with it."

The songs in his forthcoming album include "Youth," "In My Blood," "Lost In Japan," "Where Were You in the Morning," "Like To Be You," "Fallin' All In You," "Particular Taste," "Why," "Because I Had You," "Queen," "Mutual," "Perfectly Wrong," and "When You Are Ready."

Shawn Mendes will also serve as a follow-up to the singer's 2016 compilation called Illuminate. It includes "Ruin," "Mercy," "Treat You Better," "Three Empty Words," "Don't Be A Fool," "Like This," "No Promises," "Lights On," "Honest," "Patience," "Bad Reputation," "Understand," "Hold On," "Roses," and "Mercy (acoustic)."

Shawn Mendes's Recent Performances

In related news, Mendes also made headlines recently after he had performed with Taylor Swift during her Reputation stadium tour.

"I remember we got there at soundcheck and it was like the middle of the day and I got on that stage and it was a really crazy feeling to remember playing there with an acoustic guitar as the opening act and to be coming back to be a special guest. It's very, very insane when that happens," said Mendes.

Mendes also presented and performed at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20. He was joined by Khalid and the members of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School choir from Parkland, Florida for a performance of "Youth."
