Offset, a member of the popular rap trio Migos, has been arrested outside of Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, July 20.
According to reports, the 26-year-old was pulled over for an improper lane change, but the arresting cop found at least one weapon inside his vehicle.
Offset Arrested In Georgia
TMZ initially reported that the "Motorsport" rapper was pulled over for driving a vehicle with tinted windows, a minor violation that usually warrants a warning. However, the gun possession was a huge offense for a convicted felon.
Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is still on probation for a drugs and weapons arrest back in April 2015.
He has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a weapon during a crime, possession of marijuana, and an improper lane change. The publication adds that the hip-hop star was thrown behind bars. No word yet on when he is expected to be released.
The story is still developing. The Atlanta Police Department is yet to confirm the arrest.
The arrest happened a week after his wife, Cardi B, whom he married back in September, gave birth to their first child together, Kulture Kiari. Neither Cardi B nor baby Kulture Kiari was inside the vehicle at the time of the arrest.
Offset was also involved in a car crash in Atlanta in May. He was brought to the hospital for enduring minor injuries and was later sent back home to fully recover.
Quavo, Takeoff Accused Of Not Paying Taxes
Apparently, Offset is not the only member of Migos that ran into trouble in Atlanta. His fellow rapper Takeoff and Quavo are also reportedly facing charges for unpaid taxes dating back in 2016.
Last month, the state of Georgia filed a lien against Quavo for not paying $9,000 in taxes. Because of interest and penalties, his debt grew to $14,055.06. On the same day, Takeoff was also hit with a $14,348.23 lien, reported The Blast.
Takeoff and Quavo have not issued a comment regarding the issue as of this writing.
Migos is set to go on tour with Drake across North America. The 41-date trek officially titled "Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour" is scheduled to kick off on July 26, Thursday, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The rappers will also perform in Los Angeles, Detroit, Boston, Miami, New York, Vancouver, Toronto, and more.
Offset, Takeoff, and Quavo released their most recent album, the Billboard 200 chart-topper Culture II in January.
