Demi Lovato's family is convincing her to check into rehab again after she leaves the hospital. The "Sober" singer was rushed to the facility after an apparent heroin overdose.

A source close to Lovato's family also said that they have looked into the various options that they have. However, the singer has not yet agreed to get help at a facility. In March, Lovato celebrated her sixth year being sober.

"After an overdose, it's encouraged to head straight to rehab. If the person is allowed to return home first, it's harder to commit to rehab," said the source.

Wilmer Valderrama Visits Demi Lovato

Two days after she was brought to the hospital for treatment, a source revealed that Lovato is responsive and doing well. She is also in the company of her family and closest friends. The singer's ex-boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, reportedly stayed at the hospital overnight.

The NCIS actor once again visited Lovato on Thursday while she was still recovering at the hospital in Los Angeles. On the same day, Lovato's 911 call was released by TMZ. In the recording, the singer's assistant asked the operator to send an ambulance to Lovato's Hollywood Hills home.

The unnamed assistant also asked the operator to not use the ambulance's siren so that the neighbors will not be alerted. However, the operator said that they need to use the siren because it is an emergency.

Lovato has battled with substance abuse for years, and she has checked into rehab at least two times in the past. In 2015, the singer celebrated her third year anniversary of being sober, and she paid tribute to her then-boyfriend Valderrama that time.

"I really wouldn't be alive today without him. I love you, Wilmer," wrote Lovato.

However, Lovato and Valderrama split in 2016. Two years later, the singer's mom revealed that the breakup was so hard for her daughter. Dianna De La Garza said that she did not initially want Lovato to date Valderrama because she wanted more time with her daughter.

However, she acknowledged the fact that it was not hard to like the actor. When she finally tried to get to know because she thought Lovato and Valderrama will get married, but then they split a few months later.

"I think Demi came to a point where she wanted to make some decisions in her life, and when that happened, it just really broke us all. I mean we were just so upset," said De La Garza.
