Orion Pictures just uploaded a new trailer for "Bill & Ted Face the Music" and introduced a new person important to the late George Carlin's character.

Carlin plays Rufus, a prominent character in the movie franchise tasked to bring Bill and Ted to the right path. Played by Keannu Reeves and Alex Winter, the duo protagonists are referred to as the Two Great Ones. This is because they will inspire humanity towards a better future via their music and philosophy. Rufus travels back in time to ensure that this happens by keeping Bill and Ted on the right course of history.

The actor-comedian died in 2008, and this begs the question of who will play Rufus. The answer is in the trailer titled "The Future" below, watch:

As the video revealed, Kirsten Schaal plays Rufus' daughter Kelly. This is a step towards the right direction instead of casting a new Rufus altogether. The writers previously mentioned that Kelly is not only a nod to Rufus but also the late Carlin.

Like her father, Kelly is tasked to bring the Two Great Ones to the future to help in a "severe problem." Instead of time traveling phone booth, the three hopped in something that appears to be a time travel pod. Interesting enough, time travel phone booth appear at the announcement portion of the trailer.

Kelly was not the only daughter featured in the trailer. As Bill and Ted were transported to the future, their own daughters Billie and Thea watched in shocked and hoped they could help out their dads. The two are played by Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving respectively. It appears the two daughters will have an important role in the movie as well.

The movie "Bill & Ted Face the Music" will launch on August 28 in all media platforms on demand and in theaters.
