2002: You Tryin' To Be My New Wife?
The feud between Eminem and Mariah Carey first came into the public eye when the rapper dropped the song "Superman" in 2002. In the track, he mentioned the Songbird Supreme in the lyrics, "What are you tryin' to be my new wife? What you, Mariah? Fly through twice," suggesting that Carey flew on her private plane just to meet him.
2003: We Never Touched Each Other
Mariah denied these claims and said that the two artists only met four times to work on a collaboration. She insisted that they never "dated" and released the song "Clown" to clarify the situation. This is the first time that a pop singer fired back at the controversial rapper.
