Eminem and Mariah Carey have long fired back at each other about their rumored relationship. The rapper accuses the singer of lying about it while the singer continues to deny it. Here is a timeline of how the drama between Eminem and Mariah Carey unfolded.

2002: You Tryin' To Be My New Wife?

The feud between Eminem and Mariah Carey first came into the public eye when the rapper dropped the song "Superman" in 2002. In the track, he mentioned the Songbird Supreme in the lyrics, "What are you tryin' to be my new wife? What you, Mariah? Fly through twice," suggesting that Carey flew on her private plane just to meet him.

2003: We Never Touched Each Other

Mariah denied these claims and said that the two artists only met four times to work on a collaboration. She insisted that they never "dated" and released the song "Clown" to clarify the situation. This is the first time that a pop singer fired back at the controversial rapper. In the lyrics, she sang, "you should've never intimated that we were lovers when you know very well, we never touched each other."

2005: Why Won't You Call Me?

In response to the denials, Eminem played voicemail clips that were supposedly from Mariah during his Anger Management Tour.

The voicemail goes, "I heard you were getting back with your ex-wife. Why won't you see me? Why won't you call me?" before the Detriot-based rapper "puked" on a toilet seat as part of the live performance.

2009: Why Are You Obsessed with Me?

Mariah Carey got married to comedian-rapper Nick Cannon, and Eminem is not going to let this opportunity pass by. In his song "Bagpipes from Baghdad," the lyrics go "Mariah, what ever happened to us? Nick Cannon better back the f*ck up; I'm not playing. I want her back, you punk."

In response, Pop R&B singer released the single "Obsessed" with a music video where Mariah dressed up like Eminem and obsessively stalked the celebrity. Though the Grammy Awards rapper was never mentioned, it was clear to anyone who the singer was referring to. On top of that, the song was quite popular and even made it over the top 10 spots in the music charts.

Eminem responded with the diss track "The Warning," aimed at both Carey and Cannon. The song reveals that he and the female pop singer dated about half a year, where both had intimate moments. The "Stan" rapper also announced that Carey was an alcoholic and that he will release more private voicemails.

2019: This Chick's a Nutjob

It appears that things were quiet between the two after "Obsessed" and "The Warning." Additionally, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon divorced in 2015. Eminem broke the silence with his Kamikaze album, where he dissed celebrities, including Machine Gun Kelly and the Carey-Cannon couple. In the "Lord Above" track, the lyrics go:

"I know me and Mariah didn't end on a high note, but that other dude's whipped, that p*ssy got him neutered, tried to tell him this chick's a nutjob before he got his jewels clipped."

2020: Mariah Carey's Memoir

Mariah Carey plans to release her memoir, "The Meaning of Mariah Carey," and those who followed the Eminem-Mariah feud are waiting for what she has to say about Slim Shady. The book is scheduled for release this September 29, 2020.
