BTS's new single 'Butter' continued to grab records since its release date on May 21, Friday this year. This week, its fame has broken records that made it earn five Guinness awards.

Most Viewers for the Premiere of a Video On Youtube

Since its premiere on Youtube up to this date of writing, the new music has reached 3.9 million concurrent viewers, making it earn such a title. Guinness has confirmed the data from Youtube on May 24.

These statistics surpassed the views that BTS's 'Dynamite' achieved. The 2020 single gained a total of 3 million concurrent views on the platform.

Meanwhile, Youtube announced that BTS (방탄소년단) 'Butter' Official MV has over 187 million total views.

Most Viewed Youtube Music Video In 24 Hours

With 108,200,000 views, Butter broke a world record and earned the most viewed Youtube music video in 24 hours.' This achievement also let them win another world record-the 'most viewed Youtube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.'

'Butter's success is not only limited to Youtube. The new single also gained popularity in streaming sites with 11,042,335 global streams on Spotify. These statistics secured its spot for the title, 'most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours.'

The new single toppled artists Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber's 'I Don't Care' leading the race with 64,946 streams.

The K-Pop's success did not stop from there. Overall, BTS and other songs have gained 16.3 billion streams on Spotify, leading them to earn the title, 'most-streamed acton Spotify (group). BTS owe this success greatly to their two most-streamed tracks: 'Dynamite (929.7 million streams) and 'Boy with Luv' (642.6 million streams)

BTS outwitted British band Coldplay, which previously had 16.1 billion streams, and Imagine Dragons (15.7 billion streams. Drake is still leading the pack with 37.9 billion streams.

Most Successful Music Group

In total, BTS earned 23 accolades, making them one of the most famous and successful music groups in the Guinness World Records ever recorded. Their standing is comparable to other prominent artists such as Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Madonna, and The Beatles.

' Smooth like butter'

BTS (Bangtan Boys) is a South Korean K-pop Idol group consisting of members: V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin, RM, and J-Hope. They have received four awards at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards: Duo/Group, Social Artist, Song Sales Artist, and Top-Selling Song awards.

In a BTS 'Butter' review, Elle considered 'Butter' as the first in the song-of-the-summer contenders. In an interview, BTS member, Jimmin shared that the song is for easy listening without heavy or profound meaning.

"This is a little embarrassing, but it's something smooth like Butter, that really melts into and grabs hold of you. It's a very cute song, sort of a confession," he shared

The single also contained references to famous musicians and pop culture icons. In the first verses, Butter includes words that may refer to Michael Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal' and Usher's 'U Got It Bad.' They also had lyrics that refer to fans who they often call 'Army.'
