Ellen Zoe Golden, a famed publicist in the music industry whose list of clients includes some of the biggest stars in the scene, has passed away at the age of 63.

According to Variety, the veteran died after battling brain cancer at her home in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. She was diagnosed with a medical condition last fall.

Her former clients were Billy Idol, John Oats, Darl Hall, Russel Simmons' Hip-Hop Summits, and more.

The publicist's career required her to work at the Howard Bloom Organization and Universal Records. She created the label's media relations department in the mid-90s after closing her independent company, EZG Media and Marketing.

Her former client, Idol, issued a statement to the outlet, saying he's deeply saddened upon learning what happened to his former publicist.

The two worked together throughout the 80s. The singer added that they were neighbors in New York, and she was under her team during a period of his life when representing himself was hard.

"She always had my back and I'm forever grateful. My condolences go out to the entire Golden family. She will be missed," he added.

In the early 2000s, Golden decided to retire from the music industry and move to Costa Rica to pursue the things she loved: surfing and working for companies like Costa Rico Vacations, Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas, and the Bevy Marketing and Designs.

Since her work is not as heavy before as she isn't dealing with prominent celebrities, Golden loved spending her leisure time off-work including yoga, surfing, running, and watching her favorite TV shows like "The Walking Dead," "Scandal," "Arrested Development," "Oz," and more.

Aside from Billy Idol, she also became a publicist for Jody Miller's JLM; her client included Chris Lighty's Violator Records label.

The veteran also worked for 550 Music, where she helped launch Des'ree and Deep Forest's media career.

Apart from helping celebrities and singers become famous through marketing strategies, Golden has also helped numerous of them to recover from their addictions as she was a proud sober for three decades.

Golden spent her early years in New York; she later studied at North Miami Beach High School and Miami Dade College.

After the news of her death circulated online, many friends, family, and former colleagues paid tribute to the famed publicist throughout social media.

Survivors include her older brother, Doug, and a younger half-brother.
