Skrillex (Sonny Moore) has announced a new fall tour of 27 shows. This tour closely follows his most recent summer "Mothership Tour," and it begins in Miami on September 26. The full schedule can be found below.
Sonny Moore began his career in the post-hardcore outfit From First To Last until 2007. After various side projects he began to work under the moniker Skrillex, and his success quickly grew. In 2013, he won two Grammy Awards in Best Dance/Electronica Album (Bangarang) and Best Dance Recording for "Bangarang." He also won two in 2012 for Best Dance/Electronica Album (Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites) and Best New Dance Recording for the title track as well. He is a 2014 America's Best DJ nominee.
Skrillex will be joined on the tour with a varied group of performers including A$AP Ferg, DJ Snake, Big Gigantic, DJ Mustard, GTA, Nadastrom, Tokimonsta, Kaytranada, Tchami and others. Artists from Skrillex's OWSLA record label will make their appearances on selected dates, including David Heartbreak, Valentino Khan, and Alesia.
There are multiple festivals included in the tour, including TommorowWorld in Atlanta (not to be confused with TomorrowWorld in Belgium), Austin City Limits (both weekends) and Voodoo Festival in New Orleans.
Skrillex will also be using this time to make a documentary with Red Bull Music House. It reportedly will be a behind-the-scenes look into the process of putting together a Skrillex show from its beginning stages.
Tickets for the fall tour go on Sale August 15, and American Express Card owners will be eligible for presale tickets beginning August 7.
Additionally, Skrillex recently promised an additional more intimate show at Marquee Nightclub in New York City on September 4. Ticketing information can be found here. As of this post it is not yet sold out.
