It's been almost a decade since Skrillex released any new material, which has caused many to believe that he might have retired from music-but he hasn't and he's finally back.

According to reports, the 34-year-old DJ just announced that he will be dropping his new single "Rumble" on Jan. 4, along with a double album that will be released later this year.

Skrillex, however, won't be embarking on his musical comeback alone, because he enlisted two collaborators to work with him for the upcoming albums, "Fred again.." and "Flowdan".

As of this writing, Skrillex is yet to disclose the name of his highly anticipated sophomore album, except perhaps the snippet he gave fans a few days ago.

The DJ took to social media to share a 42-second clip that features a mash-up of new music, captioned: "QFF/DGTC 2023."

Kerrang notes that while fans have no idea what "QFF" stands for, many speculate that "DGTC" might stand for "Don't get too close," as per Skrillex's tweet back in October.

Anthony Green, frontman of Circa Survive/L.S. Dunes, replied to quoted the DJ's tweet and wrote: "Honored to be a part of this record. It's a masterpiece. Thanks for letting me work on it with you."

Almost a Decade

Not only is he well-loved by music fans, but he is also adored by fellow musicians and DJs. "Skrillex, he's probably the best producer of electronic music I've ever met him my life," said Diplo in 2022. "He can turn anything into anything on his own terms, the guy is the master."

Although Skrillex hasn't released his sophomore album, he has been busy working on music here and there. He has several collaborations with numerous artists under his belt.
