The recent devastating news yesterday has shaken the entire nation, and conversations about stricter gun control were revived. Several artists have also spoken up and expressed their thoughts on the tragic encounter in Texas.

Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and even Selena Gomez, in their own ways, were the first few people who have shared their sentiments on the Texas Elementary School Massacre.

Uvalde Texas Elementary School School Shooting

NPR reported that an 18-year-old male, a Uvalde native, has launched a full-blown rampage at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

Casualties of the tragic shootout claimed the lives of 19 children and two adults. The attack ensued yesterday, May 25, 2022, two days before the actual end of the school's calendar year.

President Biden expressed his frustration in a primetime address last night, noting how people are letting the "carnage" happen.

"Why? Why are we willing to live with this carnage? Why do we keep letting this happen? The gun manufacturers have spent two decades aggressively marketing assault weapons, which make them the most and largest profit," he said.

The rampage was days after a similar gun rampage ensued in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.

In light of the recent shootouts, artists in the music industry took to social media to voice their thoughts on the tragic news.

Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez Weigh In on Recent Texas Shootout

Rodrigo, who is currently on her last few stops of the North American Leg of the "SOUR" tour, took time out on her concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles last night to address the shootout that happened earlier in the day.

On the other hand, Taylor Swift broke her Twitter hiatus to speak out on the recent happenings in Uvalde, Buffalo, and Laguna Woods.

Lastly, Selena Gomez, a Grand Prairie, Texas native, echoed the thoughts of her fellow musicians - urging politicians for stricter gun laws both for the state and the country.

"Today in my home state of Texas 18 innocent students were killed while simply trying to get an education. A teacher killed doing her job; an invaluable yet sadly underappreciated job. If children aren't safe at school where are they safe?" the Latina singer expressed in frustration.

Selena also included a link to the Everytown For Gun Safety Action Fund in her follow-up tweet.
