Lil Nas X Snubbed On The BET Awards 2022?

Lil Nas X felt strongly against the recently-published list of nominees for this year's BET Awards.

The award show, which Lil Nas X, said that he has been watching since he was a kid, celebrates African Americans in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.

Despite Doja Cat, Ari Lennox, and Drake leading the pack of this year's nominees, it seemed like the "Call Me By Your Name" rapper was left out of the list.

In his first tweet, the rapper sarcastically thanked BET Awards for "an outstanding zero nominations again. black excellence," followed by a praying and white heart emoji. Although the tweet was taken down in a matter of minutes, Lil Nas X has responded to some users questioning his eligibility for the awards.

Asked what exactly has he put out, one user even pointed out to not use his gender as an excuse, as nobody cared for that anymore.

"idk maybe 3 of the biggest songs of last year & a critically acclaimed album sunnytee_ i feel like that should have helped me a bit," he quipped.

For some fans of the rapper, Lil Nas X was "robbed" of the nomination, despite being nominated for GRAMMYS last year for his work in his latest album "Montero."

Lil Nas X's 'Montero' Is His Biggest Album So Far

His self-titled debut album, "Montero," further solidified his mark on the music industry. Early on in his career, Lil Nas X pointed out that he was quite scared of being a queer hip-hop artist because of the stereotypes in the community.

Later on, he whipped out hits after hits with "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)," "Industry Baby," and "That's What I Want." While the two first tracks peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the last one hit the Top 10 of the same charts as it trended on TikTok months after its release.

Despite not bagging an award at the GRAMMYs 2022, Lil Nas X remained happy as he got to perform with Jack Harlow on stage in his "best performance yet."
