The recently-concluded Stranger Things Season 4 was nothing but epic!

With Netflix crashing earlier today because of a worldwide server overload, it seemed like everyone's focus and attention was glued to the last two episodes of the saga's fourth season.

Like the previous seasons, Stranger Things has used music as an instrumental element in the entire series.

But moving from just the favorite song of one of the show's main characters, Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill has definitely propelled to the top of the charts along with the success of the Netflix classic.

Kate Bush 'Running Up That Hill' Success

As shown in the now-iconic scene of Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1, Sadie Sink's character Max Mayfield was possessed on the upside-down dimension by the season's main antagonist Vecna. To get out of the trance, she must listen to her favorite song - something that would tether her to the actual world - in this case, Kate Bush's 1985 hit Running Up That Hill.

The song was used multiple times in the first volume, which gained momentum that led to a resurgence on both charts in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Because of the show, the track reached an all-time high on the Billboard Hot 100, running up as high as #4 from its #30 peak at the time of release. Over in the United Kingdom, the track holds the top spot on the UK Singles Chart for three consecutive weeks, beating Harry Styles' As It Was.

The album, Hounds of Love also soared on the US charts, reaching #1 on the Top Alternative Albums, giving Kate Bush her first #1 album.

Kate Bush Finally Finished 'Stranger Things' Season 4

In a new statement, Kate Bush now confirmed that she finally finished the thrilling season.

Although she only watched the scenes where Running Up That Hill was featured, Bush revealed that she was so "delighted" that the Duffer Brothers had chosen her track as Max's totem.

"I feel deeply honoured that the song was chosen to become a part of their roller coaster journey. I can't imagine the amount of hard work that's gone into making something on this scale. I am in awe. They've made something really spectacular," the musician elaborated.

Per Bush, they wanted to honor the energy that's being showered to them along with the show's success - energy she described to be special, unique, and bloody moving.
