The 2023 GRAMMY Awards are finally set - the important dates, venue, and official guidelines are officially announced.

What sets the 2023 GRAMMY Awards on its previous shows is the amended eligibility guidelines - which cast doubts on Taylor Swift fans.

Particularly, Swifties are concerned if "Red (Taylor's Version)" would be eligible for any GRAMMY nominations, considering the new rules.

GRAMMY Awards 2023 New Eligibility Rules

Earlier this week, The Recording Academy released the Official Rules and Guidelines for the 65th GRAMMY Awards.

Fans of the "Carolina" singer were particularly worried whether Swift's most recent re-release, "Red (Taylor's Version)," would be eligible for any GRAMMY nods next year.

This is because, under the GRAMMY Guidelines for albums, The Recording Academy declared that "updated, revised, or expanded versions" of previously submitted albums will not be eligible.

Originally released in 2012, Taylor Swift's "Red" was submitted to the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards and was nominated for both Album of the Year and Best Country Album.

Last November 2021, Taylor re-released "Red," the second album on her discography, to be re-released after countering the purchase of the masters of her back catalog.

With the amended rules, Billboard sought if the Taylor Swift album would receive any nods next year.

Is 'Red (Taylor's Version)' Eligible for 2023 GRAMMY Nominations?

The answer is YES. The Recording Academy clarified to Billboard that Taylor Swift's "Red (Taylor's Version)" will be eligible for GRAMMY nominations next year.

According to the Academy, the album is eligible "as it is a new recording."

Last year, Taylor Swift released "Fearless (Taylor's Version)." However, she did not enter the album for awards consideration. Instead, the singer submitted "Evermore," which received an Album of the Year nomination.

But before it was even considered for AOTY nomination, The Recording Academy expanded the coveted nomination slots from 8 albums to 10 - which granted Kanye West's "DONDA" and Swift's "Evermore" to be considered.

Should she be nominated again this year, Taylor Swift will go head to head with a bunch of huge artists. The pack includes a long line already - Harry Styles' "Harry's House," Adele's "30," The Weeknd's "Dawn FM," Kendrick Lamar's "Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers," and Beyonce's "Rennaisance," among many others.

The 2023 GRAMMY Awards will be releasing the official list of nominees on Nov. 15, 2022. Only albums/records released between Oct. 1, 2022, to Sep. 30, 2022, will qualify.
