In the music industry, fans swarm around their idols when they see them in person to ask for a photo, however, Red Hot Chili Pepper's Flea isn't fond of the idea as he explained his side online.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, a fan took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the bassist and frontman Anthony Kiedis for chatting with them at one of their recent shows.

"You both are such rays of sunshine, you didn't have to stop and chat but you did and i hope you know that you really impacted our lives. we love you and AK with all of our hearts!" he wrote.

After the short video of their meeting made rounds online, many fans took to the reply section to note that it's rare for the frontman to speak to his fans during their show.

Flea later quote-retweeted the post to explain that the reason why they stopped by and chatted with the fan was because of their "kind and gentle light" as well as not asking for pictures.

"We are always down to talk and chat, asking for a photo ruins it instantly," he wrote.

Despite his chill response, the bassist received mixed reactions from fans, as many of them questioned if there is something wrong with asking for a picture.

"what's wrong with fans asking for a picture?" one wrote.

Another user defended the band, saying it all revolves around the interaction between a fan and their idol, adding, "I've learned that it goes much further when you do not ask for a photo. That comes off as you only want a picture to post online and don't really care about genuinely meeting someone you admire."

A fan argued that posing for a photo "shouldn't be a chore" because meeting one's idol is memorable and they wanted to capture the moment. The user claimed that Flea also wanted to have photos with his "heroes."

However, the bassist replied, "I have never asked anyone to take a photo with me once in my life."

Red Hot Chili Peppers is currently on tour until February. According to their official website, their next show would be at the Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 10, with special guests The Strokes and Thundercat.

The band will also release their second album this year titled "Return of the Dream Canteen" on October 14.
