Wu-Tang Clan is considered one of the most legendary rap groups of all time. Since they are popularly known worldwide, many fans rap their songs on a regular basis. However, it appears that one supporter crossed the line when he rapped a specific lyric which led him to be fined.

According to The National, a 25-year-old white man named Kyle Siegel recorded a TikTok video of himself rapping the song "Protect Ya Neck."

The Norgate, Lerwick-based fan recorded the video in a women's bathroom stall at the Scalloway Boating Club.

While filming the clip, he didn't know that there was a mixed-race woman in the bathroom who was shocked to hear him rap the n-word.

The fan later faced the consequences of his actions as he attended a court hearing where he admitted of using the word.

He defended himself by saying he had no idea there was a person in the cubicle next to him.

Aside from saying the racial slur, he also admitted that he conducted himself in a disorderly manner by entering a women's restroom in the middle of the night. (via Hip Hop DX)

Apart from the complainant, there were also other women present at the time of the incident.

The Procurator Fiscal told the judge that Siegel's rapping was loud enough for the woman to hear.

The two later had an argument about the racial slur and the incident was reported to the police.

The man's lawyer, Tommy Allan, told the court that his client was "singing along to a TikTok on a friend's phone."

He later explained that the Wu-Tang Clan is a huge rap group from New York and all members came from "an ethnic background."

Although they tried arguing that there's "artistic freedom," the lawyer noted that his client was not a person of color. However, he continued defending Siegel, saying he didn't intend to hurt anyone despite crossing the line.

In the end, the man was fined £500 ($602.74) with an additional victim surcharge of £20 ($24.11).

N-word is a big deal around the world as it is considered a racial slur if the person who says it is not a POC.

Among the list of controversial artists was Morgan Wallen who was filmed saying the word after a night out with friends.

He faced major backlash as his music was barred from radio stations and he wasn't allowed to perform at a few awards shows.
