Britney's back! After years of waiting, the pop star is set to return to her music roots following a lengthy conservatorship battle against her conservators, most notable her father Jamie Spears; when is it coming out?

According to the New York Post, the "I Wanna Go" hitmaker will be releasing a song in collaboration with the legendary Elton John.

The two will release a re-recorded version of the British singer's hit 1971 track "Tiny Dancer."

The song's 2022 rework is titled "Hold Me Closer," to which John confirmed on his official Twitter account by posting a photo of the title along with a rose and rocket emoji.

The caption included a pre-save/pre-add link that fans can access, but the directed website doesn't include Spears' name.

Despite the singer's name not being included in the recent promotion, it appears that the collaboration will be coming out soon as both stars' representatives have confirmed the news to the outlet.

The recent announcement comes a few months after Spears teased fans about an upcoming project she's working on called "Project Rose."

However, it's unclear if her project was her duet with the Grammy Award-winning singer.

As of this writing, Elton John has not publicly confirmed the official release date for the song, but sources previously told Page Six that the collaboration will be available for streaming and purchase anytime around August.

Spears' last music project was in 2016 for her album "Glory," but the deluxe edition was released in 2020.

The latest confirmation comes a day after an insider confirmed that the singer is also working with another music legend, the queen of pop herself, Madonna.

The source noted that Madonna has been trying to get Spears to do a collaboration for a while now, and since it appears that the singer is better than ever, she's "really been pushing it for reals."

"Britney has not accepted the offer but of course she has considered it. Madonna is an icon and Britney is starting to realize, again, that so is she," the insider added.

The "Pretty Girls" songstress is said to appreciate the offer of the legendary singer and is "proud" because many musicians wanted to collaborate with her.

As of this writing, neither Madonna nor Britney Spears has confirmed whether the ongoing rumors are true or not.
