Many fans have been waiting for Joshua Bassett to release his debut album, but it appears that they won't be getting it soon as he revealed that he's still working on it. However, it doesn't mean his supporters would not get music because the Disney star announced an EP ahead of his upcoming project.
According to Billboard, the up-and-coming pop star took to his social media accounts to announce his third EP titled "Sad Songs in a Hotel Room" is set to be released in a few weeks.
Sharing the official cover art of his new music project, Bassett can be seen sitting on a messy hotel bed as he plays the guitar.
The room appeared to be vintage as the wallpaper and furniture heavily resemble items from the 1970s.
"THE ALBUM...isn't done yet...BUT Sad Songs In A Hotel Room the EP is coming september 23rd!" he wrote.
Fans can now pre-order and pre-save the EP in this link.
Upon clicking the website on his bio, fans will be re-directed to the pre-save list which carries major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and iTunes Store.
As of this writing, the tracklist remains a mystery as it's been blurred out except for one song titled "Smoke Slow." In total, Bassett will release seven new tracks.
His first self-titled EP was released in 2021. He also dropped three packaged songs titled "Crisis / Secret / Set Me Free" the same year.
In addition, he released "Doppelgänger" earlier this year along with a music video.

The recent announcement comes more than a month after he graced the red carpet premiere of "High School Musical: The Musical" season 3.
Bassett was reunited with his co-star Olivia Rodrigo as they walked and took pictures together, which is a dream come true for most fans.
The two have been lead stars since the first season, but the "SOUR" hitmaker was credited as a guest star this time due to her in-demand solo music career.
Many fans have been speculating about the songs on Rodrigo's debut album as some of them alleged that it was about Bassett.
Both Disney stars were rumored to have dated each other in the past. However, the "good 4 u" songstress has yet to address the issue.
